Watford Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir will perform one of the last compositions of Johann Sebastian Bach, the mass in B minor. This work was completed in 1749, the year before his death. Much of the mass is based on choral music that Bach had completed earlier in his career and subsequently revised. The mass was never performed in its entirety during Bach’s lifetime and the first documented complete performance took place in 1859. It is a great favourite with performers and audiences alike
The soloists for our performance at 7pm on Sunday 12th November are:
Anastasiia Golovina, Soprano
Oliver Gerrish, Counter Tenor
Matthew Pochin, Tenor
Peter Willcock, Baritone
